Trainee/Junior Medical Receptionist

About the role…
The Medical Receptionist is an integral part of our team. They hold the responsibility of running the “front of house” and providing excellent service on the front line for our patients. Their general role is to organise appointments, maintain records and perform medical & other tasks in order to ensure smooth and efficient function of the practice and provide an exceptional standard of care to our patients.

•Front of house– greeting and assisting patients and visitors to the clinic
•Scheduling & managing appointments and follow-ups
•Providing effective administrative support to doctors and allied health
•Completing various data entry tasks
•Answering phones, liaising with Specialists and other local health services and dealing with patientenquiries in a pleasant, empathetic and professional manner
•Day to day front reception operations & general office duties (scanning, photocopying, filing etc) toensure that our office runs smoothly
•Billing and facilitating appropriate payments, including learning Medicare item numbers and billingrules
•Informing patients of the practice policies and procedures
•Maintaining and managing patient records. Register patients according to established protocols.
•Ensure patient information is accurate and up to date including billing information
•Deal with incoming and outgoing correspondence appropriately
•General house keeping
•Adhering to all practice policies and procedures
