Important Information – Telephone Consultation


Please read the following important information before your appointment.

When Your Doctor Will Call:

  • Your doctor will call you on the day of your booking.

  • The call may come through as a private or unknown number.

  • Please note: the time shown in your confirmation text is not an exact call time. Your doctor will call when available during the day, depending on their clinic schedule. Unfortunately, we cannot provide an exact call time for telephone consultations.

  • If you have booked a brief phone consult, the doctor will only be able to spend under 5 minutes on the phone, due to time constraints with face to face and other bookings. If you feel you will need longer, you must cancel and book a standard phone consult or face-to-face.

  • NOTE: BOTH BRIEF AND STANDARD PHONE CALLS ATTRACT THE SAME FEE.

Medicare Rebates and Fees

  • You may receive a text message asking you to confirm your Medicare rebate – please follow the prompts, as this allows us to process your rebate for you.

  • Patients under 16 and over 65 are bulk billed, if eligible for Medicare.

  • Telephone consults are charged the same as a normal face to face appointment. The standard fee is $95, depending on the length and complexity of the consultation.

  • Medicare rebates are available (if eligible) and will be submitted on your behalf within 48 hours.

  • Medicare rebates are only payable if you have had a face-to-face appointment with your doctor within the past 12 months. If you have not and you book a phone appointment, you may be fully out of pocket (no Medicare rebate).
