Procedural Appointment Fees

If you have an upcoming procedural appointment at Paul Hopkins Medical Complex (PHMC), it is important that you know if you will have potential fees and out-of-pocket costs.

-
Patients Under 16 or Over 65 are generally bulk billed at our clinics for consultations. Procedures and other treatments may attract a fee.
-
-
A $30 nurse fee may apply where nursing services are provided.
-

-
Procedures may incur an out-of-pocket fee between $30 and $90, depending on the type of procedure and your doctor’s billing policy.
-
-
If your doctor decides to bulk bill your procedure, a $30 nurse fee may still apply if nursing services are provided.

Info on the Nurse Fees
When our nursing team provides a specific service to our patients, a $30 private nurse fee is charged separately from your doctor’s fee.
Please note: this nurse fee is not claimable through Medicare and is payable by all patients, including those who are usually bulk billed.

Payment Terms
-
Procedure fees (excluding excisions) are payable on the day of your procedure.
-
For excisions, payment is due at your suture removal appointment.

Estimated Fees
The maximum out-of-pocket cost for any procedure at PHMC is no more than $90 after the Medicare rebate (for private-paying patients).

Important Information
As PHMC is a private medical practice that engages contract doctors; our administrative staff are unable to provide exact quotes for procedural fees - this is best discussed in collaboration with your doctor.
If you have any questions or concerns regarding the cost of your upcoming procedure, please call the clinic to work out a time to discuss this with your doctor or we will try and help the best we can.
